About Us

Bamboo Village was created in 2010 and exists for the everyday, environmentally aware consumer. That is, those that are interested in making eco-friendly choices when it comes to their purchases but only if those products were of exceptional style, function and quality.

We aim to offer you access to products that match or exceed the function, quality and style of their cotton and timber counterparts, making the eco-friendly choice an easy one to make for those who perhaps sit on the fence when it comes to environmentally friendly alternatives.

We're not interested in selling you inferior bamboo products - so we only stock great products from brands we trust (...and that's why we can offer our guarantee!)

It is our mission to find and bring to you the best of the best bamboo products. Every product featured on this website has been thoroughly reviewed and tested for quality, style and function and we continue to use (and rave about!) these products in our own homes. We source bamboo products from around the world that are beautiful, serve a need and yet are made from a resource that has a minimal environmental footprint.

Why bamboo? We choose to focus on bamboo products because of the ecologically sound nature of bamboo’s growing cycle - it grows prolifically yet requires little water, pesticides and fertilisers and does not need replanting. In hardwood form it looks and feels divine yet has incredible strength and durability. In textile form, we know bamboo is more absorbent than cotton, feels luxuriously soft to touch and wear and retains some of the bamboo plant’s inherent antibacterial properties (not yet proven, but you only need to leave a load of wet washing sitting for a day or two to know there is truth to the claim!). Bamboo has been used for centuries in the East but is only now being recognised in the West for its myriad of uses.

Our best selling product would be our bamboo work socks. These socks are popular with men and women working in the mining and agricultural industries because they outperform wool, cotton and synthetic socks on comfort, durability, breathability and absorbency. They are an excellent example of the type of product we aim to make more readily available.

We believe that choosing an environmentally friendly alternative, such as bamboo, shouldn't mean compromising quality, function or style. So we have sourced products worldwide that allow you to embrace sustainability...with style.

We sincerely hope you enjoy these products as much as we do - and visit us regularly to check out new and exciting bamboo products sourced from around the world.
