5 DIY Ideas For A Christmas Home

Posted by Bamboo Village on 12th Dec 2014

We're feeling so jolly and festive here at Bamboo Village! Christmas tunes are playing as we work and the office is looking rather beautiful. In the spirit of celebratory decorating, it got us thinking about how great it is to add a bit of DIY to your Christmas decorations. Buying store made ones are great and easy, but it's a great feeling to know that something you have up for Christmas was made all by yourself...not to mention the eco-aspects of using less packaging. We let ourselves hunt the depths of Pinterest and found some of the most wonderful ideas to do around the home; so simple and easy, you'll be coming back to these year after year!

Glitter Wine Bottle Vases

Whoever came up with this idea first time around is a genius. If you have leftover bottles in the recycling bin, turn them into a Christmas vase instead. A little paint and glitter later and you'll have a very expensive looking stylish vase. Add some glittery fake flowers and holly and you have a beautiful addition to your sideboard or coffee table. Check out the idea here.

Santa Hat Chair Covers

This is a little crazy but we love it. Who says your chairs can't also be decorated at this time of year? No one can Bah-Humbug these! This great idea gives each chair a Santa hat, and the

nd results are great. We think adding a few bells to the end of each hat would also add a great touch; every time someone sits down, their chair will ring in a jolly spirit! Get this great idea here.

Ice Cream Ornaments

To celebrate our wonderfully warm Christmas, why not bring a little summer to the tree too. These ice cream paper ornaments are great; made simply from cardboard and some tissue paper, they certainly add a little extra something. A great activity for the kids, read more about it here.

Cookie Cutter Place Cards

It always gives a little extra special touch to the table when everyone has a place card at Christmas, especially when you have guests coming over. These are place cards with a difference. Find some festive cookie cutters - reindeer, stars, trees and so on - and tie some festive string around them and add a name tag. Everyone will be so impressed when they

ind theirs. Read more here.

Felt Ball Wreath - If you're fancying something a little different than your normal wreath on the door this year, try your hand at this creative number made out of felted balls. A wonderful idea for an afternoon of fun, it'll certainly become the talking point of anyone who comes to your door! Check out this idea here.
