We love products that are both genius and eco-friendly, and the thinking behind Refold's Portable Cardboard Standing Desk is very very clever. Created by a team of Wellington University graduates, it is a desk that weighs less than 7kg, and can be easily folded into a self-formed carry case and taken anywhere.

Made completely of cardboard (wow!), it can be put together in two minutes and folded away when not needed. Perfect for those with lack of space in the home or the office, people who only have the use of a desk sporadically, and those who want to transport a desk for their needs, such as setting up a temporary office on the go.

Standing desks are becoming more and more popular, as people realise that sitting down all day isn't too good for you long term. If you do need to sit, the desk allows you to adjust, providing a suitable seating area on the same surface.

One of the best parts for the eco-conscious? It is 100% recyclable. The glue on it is even environmentally friendly; we like these sorts of statistics! The team behind the design are also hoping it will instigate positive change in the schools of less fortunate children, and are currently working with UNICEF New Zealand to introduce the desks into Pacific Island schools.
