3 Natural Remedies for Smelly Feet

Feet are a breeding ground for bacteria - literally. Each foot has 250,000 sweat glands and produce about a cup of sweat daily, which bacteria thrive in. The bacteria feed, produce gas and this is what causes the offensive smell. With the weather heating up, you (or those around you!) may be looking for a solution.

Stinky Feet Remedies:

1. Try regularly soaking feet and shoes in an anti-bacterial solution such as diluted eucalyptus oil (tea tree and lavender will do the trick too).

2. Regularly go without shoes to give feet a chance to 'air out'.

3. Wearing natural fibre socks, such as bamboo socks, will also help. Bamboo fibre has anti-bacterial properties which slows down the growth of this gassy-foot-odour-causing bacteria. It also absorbs more sweat than cotton or wool, further limiting the growth of the bacteria (which also makes them a good choice for sufferers of fungal infections such as tinea). A lot of bamboo-sock-wearers say they will never wear another type of sock - they're that good!
