Going 'Green' and being eco-friendly not only helps the environment and creates a really healthy living environment, it also helps improve your lifestyle too. Being 'Green' can really be improved and made better by everyone, so it's a great idea to get your friends and family involved as much as you can too. A few simple tips and ideas can go a really long way in encouraging and educating people in what they can be doing to help the environment.

Saving Money - A great tip about being green, is being able to save money. Things such as switching to energy efficient light bulbs can really help your bills in the long term. Check out some other great tips in our recent blog post. Whereas some people might not have saving the earth on top of their agenda, everyone will take note when they know they can save a few dollars. If they know their bills are going to be less at the end of the month, they will be encouraged to turn off the light switch when they leave the room.

Make Recycling Easy - One of the major ways to encourage others to be eco-friendly is to make recycling as easy as possible. In your home or workplace, have separate bins or bags for different things that need recycling; it will encourage people to use them. Recycle everything that you can, and practice healthy green habits such as using glass bottles instead of plastic ones. If your workplace doesn’t have any eco-friendly practices in places, suggest them to your manager; you will come across as very proactive, which is always useful when it comes to things like promotions and bonuses!

Health - You may have friends or family who are quite health conscious, and like to eat the right foods. Eating healthy organic food is a great way of not only being 'green' but ensuring that your body has all of the great nutrients it needs, rather than from highly processed foods that are available. Eating local organic foods also reduces pollution and industrial foods, due to reduced refrigeration and transport needs. Introducing people to organic food is a great way of introducing them to being 'green' and could then encourage them to introduce more eco-friendly habits into their life.

Provide Incentives - This is especially a good idea for employees in a work environment, as well as getting children involved at home. At work, award a bonus for the most environmentally responsible employee of the month. At home, reward the little ones with a day trip or a new cuddly toy if they recycle everything they use at home. It's a great way to make it fun in both environments, while knowing you're making a difference. In the workplace, you could even start a 'Green Team', who are dedicated to making the workplace more eco-friendly.
