This Week We Found…Planetbox Lunch Boxes

Posted by Bamboo Village on 3rd Dec 2014

Unless you buy food at work or head out into the city to grab a bite, you probably take your own packed lunch. A cheaper and usually healthier alternative, it always feels good to know what you're eating when you've prepped it all yourself. However, do you consider what it is packaged in? It's easy to put a sandwich into a plastic bag, but in the long run it isn't good for the environment.

When we heard about PlanetBox, we were pleasantly surprised. They are food-safe stainless steel lunch boxes that keep food separate and everything fresh. Taking your own lunch is great, but have you ever experienced one thing running into another by the time lunch rolls around? (Apple sticks smell like tuna or mayo, for instance). And feeling like you’re generating a lot of packaging waste every day?

This lunchbox completely takes away these issues, and is outstanding for the environment, replacing your plastic bags and paper for a lunchbox.

PlanetBox class their boxes as 'part bento box, part TV dinner tray', and they're ideal for packing delicious meals with no waste for work, school or travelling on the go. They aren't your typical metal lunch box; these are for the green generation!

They offer several different designs, but all of them come with a stainless steel lunchbox, an insulated carry bag with packets, one or two leak proof containers with lids, and magnets (ideal for the kids). They also sell things such as ice packs to keep things cool.

If you're a parent, making lunches becomes much more fun with these boxes; you can fill the compartments and know that your child's lunch is complete and healthy. The reviews on their website really pay testament to the outstanding quality and longevity of the lunch boxes; they will save you money in the long run, as well as the knowledge that you’re doing your bit towards the environment.

They're now available in Australia! Buy yours here.
